Job Summary

The Denials Operations Analyst (DOA) supports the day-to-day infrastructure of the Denials Management function, ensuring workflows run efficiently across DRG Assurance and DRG Secure clients. This role plays a key part in coordinating denial workflows, maintaining operational reporting, and supporting technology solutions that enhance denial tracking and appeal processes.

Working closely with denial specialists and leadership, this position helps drive operational efficiency, improve turnaround times, and support scalable growth of the denial management program while delivering a high level of client service.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate daily denial workflows, including intake, assignment, tracking, and progression of accounts
  • Monitor work queues and ensure adherence to turnaround times for denial reviews and appeals
  • Support workload distribution across denial specialists to maintain efficiency and balance
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams and clients, providing updates on workflows, account status, and deliverables
  • Prepare operational summaries, status reports, and client-facing updates
  • Assist with onboarding new clients by establishing workflows, reporting templates, and operational processes
  • Support denial management systems and workflow tools, ensuring data accuracy and functionality
  • Partner with internal technology teams to troubleshoot and resolve system or workflow issues
  • Track and analyze key operational metrics, including denial volumes, productivity, and performance trends
  • Perform reconciliation activities and resolve discrepancies in reporting data
  • Contribute to dashboards and reporting tools to monitor denial trends and operational performance
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and support process improvements, automation, and scalability initiatives

Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, denial management, CDI, coding, project management, or related healthcare environments 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows and competing priorities
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing communication
  • Experience with workflow management systems, denial tracking platforms, or healthcare data tools 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data tracking, organization, and basic analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word for reporting, documentation, and presentations
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating cross-functionally
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, process consistency, and operational efficiency

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Fully remote, full-time position (40 hours per week)
  • Monday through Friday during regular business hours
